We are delighted to announce our new two-year collaboration with NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT). We have been appointed as their User Centred Design partner and we're excited to support them in making a real difference to people's lives.

About NHSBT

NHS Blood and Transplant is a special health authority, sponsored by the Department of Health and Social Care. NHSBT is responsible for the supply of blood, organs, tissues and stem cells. It collects and supplies blood to hospitals in England and is the organ donation organisation for the UK.

NHS Blood and Transplant's mission is clear: to save and improve lives. It's a mission we're proud to support because it aligns perfectly with our values.

As we look to the future, our ambition is to save and improve even more lives, building a world where every patient receives the donation they need.

Putting People First

NHSBT has an ambitious change programme underway. They want to grow their donor base, develop new products and services, modernise operations, create a more inclusive organisation and adopt UCD ways of working. But this, combined with NHSBT’s wide range of services, means there are a complex set of users who are involved.

Our partnership is all about putting people first. By focusing on user centred design, we'll create solutions that truly meet the needs of patients, donors, their families, clinical teams, frontline staff and more. Together, we'll make sure that healthcare services are more efficient, accessible, and inclusive for everyone.

Amanda Payne, Experience Strategy Director, cxpartners comments:

We are thrilled to partner with NHSBT as part of their ambitions to become a mature user-centred design organisation. Together we'll work to modernise existing and develop new digital services. I am so excited to see the change we can achieve by working together.

Tamlyn Driver, Managing Director of cxpartners, comments:

“cxpartners exists to make better services and better organisations. Our work with NHSBT will do both of these and in turn improve the blood donation service in England and the organ transplantation service across the UK.”

As part of our two year contract, we aim to continue the great work NHSBT’s digital, design and service teams are doing. We will provide outcomes-based strategic design expertise across a wide range of products and services - relentlessly focusing on the users, championing inclusivity and aligning to the organisation vision and strategic objectives.

And if we can help NHSBT to achieve their vision, the payoff is huge. It will result in:

  1. More lives saved
  2. More lives improved
  3. Every patient receives the donation they need.
