In our fourth webinar for Customer Centricity Month 2023, Sam Stevens, Principal UX Consultant at cxpartners, and Chris Anstey, Advertising Solutions Architect at Google, looked at ‘Prototyping to deliver more value, sooner’. Together they discussed how to use prototyping as a mindset to create action, how this mindset can help organisations to become more customer centric and how adopting customer centricity helps to deliver success
To remain competitive in challenging times you’ll need to prioritise investment in new initiatives. That can seem daunting and risky. But rather than waiting until launch to see if the initiative will be a success, you can see value sooner through prototyping. Prototyping things early – even bold new ventures – can help you stay ambitious while lowering risk.
In this session, we discussed how to break down large initiatives into meaningful prototypes that you can test with customers. We looked into how to make sure you’re intentional, focused and efficient so that you can be nimble and adapt to what you learn.

Sam is a Principal UX Consultant with 10+ years of industry experience delivering work across a number of organisations and startups including Google, Dyson, and SSE. He is particularly passionate about applying design thinking and a prototyping mindset to help solve the biggest challenges our society faces.
Chris is an Advertising Solutions Architect in Google’s gTech Professional Services organisation. He operates as a technical trusted advisor for Google’s advertisers, agencies and partners, and is responsible for improving web experiences and conversion rates, focusing on core business objectives. He oversees the technical engagement with partners including assessment workshops, guiding testing strategy, and collaborating with interdisciplinary project teams to create innovative solutions
2023 was another uncertain year for many organisations. As uncertainty becomes the norm, businesses need to do more than just survive. They need to thrive. Organisations must maintain a competitive edge, even when times are tough.
Our research tells us that prioritisation is a big concern for many businesses. Getting strategy and tactics right can be tough – it’s a balancing act. Too much focus on your tactics and you might reduce your long term sustainability, competitiveness and growth, but too much emphasis on your strategy might result in slower agility to change.
For Customer Centricity Month 2023, we held five webinars throughout November that looked at how you can plan for the future whilst managing the day-to-day. And most importantly, how putting the customer at the heart of all business decisions can help you to do so.
For each webinar we were joined by expert design leaders who gave examples of the topics in practice.
