Senior Front-End Developer (React) London
We are looking for a full-time, permanent Front-End Developer. You’ll be working alongside our developers, user experience and design practitioners on a wide range of projects. We pride ourselves on building teams who can rapidly assess and pragmatically solve problems.
This is a senior, delivery-focussed, client-facing role, working across multiple projects. You will be working in agile, cross-functional teams, providing technical leadership on those projects. You will provide senior support to the development team, mentoring more junior members.
Our senior consultants ensure we deliver fantastic quality work. We apply an agile, service design approach to solving our clients’ problems, using technology to enable change. As a senior member of our technical team, you will be key to making that happen.
You will have the skills and experience to carry out the following:
You will be developing projects ranging from high fidelity prototypes and technical proof-of-concepts, through to full-stack production web apps. Technologies currently used include:
- Setting-up of cloud hosting environments, predominantly using AWS, including code-defined infrastructure
- Command-line Git, CI/CD pipelines
In terms of technical experience, we’ll need you to have some experience of:
- Back-end development using Node.js
- Cloud hosting environments (AWS or Azure)
- Working in an agile environment
- Working with designers and clients
Ideally, you would also have experience:
- Building front-ends to headless back-ends
- Working with content management systems
You will be working alongside our wider project teams and with client stakeholders in carrying out technical discovery projects. This includes running technical stakeholder workshops, researching and documenting existing technology solutions, defining project technical requirements, technology evaluation, solution ideation and architecting, and presenting findings and recommendations to clients.
You will typically be the technical lead on projects, often working alongside other developers (in-house, freelance and part of client organisations).
As a senior member of our technical team, you will also be heavily involved in defining and evolving our technical approach (choice of technologies, tools and approach), and mentoring more junior members of the team.
Your skills, qualities and experience:

You have more than five years’ work experience in a digital industry. You will have experience of working within a cross-disciplinary team, ideally in an agile environment.

You’ll have great communication skills (verbal and written), the ability to listen, and to articulate complex ideas clearly. You’ll need a level of natural authority to help you lead your teams, and to ensure clients listen to you and people respond to you. You will have great emotional intelligence, and understand how to build strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients.
We’d like you to be able to see the big picture and have a strong attention to detail - both are possible, we think!
Once travel restrictions are eased, you’ll be happy to travel to our other office from time to time, and to work on site with clients if and when that is needed. You’ll also be prepared to travel abroad.
You must have the right to live and work in the UK.
