Julie is highly skilled at research around sensitive topics such as mental illnesses. She recently co-led research with the NHS England Adult Mental Health team. This project focused on enhancing service delivery for adults with severe mental illness to decrease premature morbidity resulting from preventable health conditions. This work led her to give a talk at SDinGov in 2021 for fellow practitioners to gain more confidence when tackling research projects around sensitive topics.
As a Principle UX Consultant & Service Designer, Julie leads projects and is the main point of contact for clients. She has over a decade of experience and is a ‘full-stack designer’ with strengths in visual design, user research, and communications. Her skills allow her to play multiple roles to fill any gaps needed to enable teams to work effectively towards outcomes.
Julie lived in Shanghai, China until the age of 10, when she immigrated to Vancouver, Canada with her family. In an increasingly globalised workplace, her background equips her with the empathy needed to bridge divides when connecting across cultures.
