Vote for Simplicity and Delight

Posted Thursday, August 20th, 2009 by Giles Colborne

In the space of a few years, South By South West (SXSW) Interactive is one of the most anticipated conferences on the circuit. The 2010 event takes place in March next year.

It features ‘five days of compelling presentations from the brightest minds in emerging technology, scores of exciting networking events hosted by industry leaders and an unbeatable line up of special programs showcasing the best new websites, video games and startup ideas the community has to offer’.

TIP: SXSW 2009Read about our adventures at SXSW 2009.Sounds good to us. Having thoroughly enjoyed attending last year’s event, we thought it was time we did a little more. So we’re proposing to speak on a couple of hot topics.

The first is Simplicity. We’ll be showing how some of the ideas and principals we demonstrated in our ‘Secrets of Simplicity’ presentation at UPA 2009 apply to mobile user interfaces.

The second is Delight. We’re often asked to create an interface that delights users and we’ve been doing some thinking on what that means and how to create delight.

An important part of the submission process for SXSW is the voting process. You can vote for, comment on and make suggestions about the panels and presentations.

We’d love your ideas, feedback and support. So please take a minute to register on the SXSW site and then vote for our presentations.

    Hi,

For those that are unlikely to be able to attend SXSW it would be very interesting to hear your thoughts on interfaces that delight and if possible share any examples (CX or otherwise) that fit this criteria.

    Interesting blog.

Yes – I’ll be publishing some blog posts in the run up to the event.

The slides will also go live just after my talk

So even if you don’t make it to SXSW there’s a good reason to vote for these presentations!
