At the Usability Professionals’ Association conference in May, myself and Dan Szuc from Apogee presented some insights about China and tips on performing user testing in this country.

With a background where I grew up with Chinese culture and traditions, my experience in practicing UX in the West for many years and running and managing user testing in China, I’ve observed some similarities and differences between participants in the UK and in the mainland China.

In this presentation, we’ve shared our experience and views from different angles on running user testings in China. It includes tips and tricks on what you should be aware of and focus on, from recruitment to running the testing.
